Working together with local communities to achieve mutual prosperity while preserving the environment are important issues for every company. Daito Chemix has taken action to protect the environment since the 1970s, when our engineers developed a wastewater treatment plant for the Osaka Factory. Since then we have actively worked to anticipate the requirements of society. And we acquired attestation of ISO-14000 by 2002 in all factories and the place of business. Every month, for example, we visit residents who live near the factory to gather their views. This has helped us develop an environmental program as well as an environmental monitoring system that provides direct feedback on facilities development. And with funding from the Pollution Prevention Corporation, a public-sector body, we have also developed a drainage processing system that meets strict standards. These activities show that Daito Chemix has one of the most progressive environmental policies in the industry. As an expression of this policy, we have compiled a set of environmental guidelines that emphasize the importance of environmental conservation in our business activities. Through these guidelines, we actively work to conserve resources while maintaining harmony with the local community through ongoing communication undertaken as part of our role as a good corporate citizen.
